So, I don’t think we’ve talked enough about James Badge Dale. He was on Season 3 of 24, i.e. the Best Season, and was awesome. SO GOOD. He even made me believe he was really in love with Elisha Cuthbert, which let me tell you is no small feat. I had high hopes that that would be the beginning of a long and storied acting career, but instead, he disappeared.
UNTIL NOW!! Yes, that’s right. 2010 seems to be the year of James Badge Dale, at least in that he was in The Pacific (which I am in no way ever watching due to my violence issues) and is now the LEAD STAR of the new AMC original series: Rubicon. You can watch it!
I guess it looks good. I like shows that are about puzzles, but also, I think scenes of people trying to solve puzzles are pretty much always super cheesy. However, this is AMC! Home of the totally critically acclaimed series Mad Men and Breaking Bad. I never really got into Mad Men (because it was kind of boring?) and can’t watch Breaking Bad (because meth is BAD you guys), but I feel like their success pretty much guarantees James Badge Dale presents Rubicon will be a success. So, yay!!
I would like to point out that this pilot episode showcases my least favorite part of living in New York: New Yorkers do this thing where they carry umbrellas in the snow. What is that shit? Umbrellas are for spring and fall! Hats are for winter.
