You know, I am often tempted to be really mean about the AV Club, mainly for taking everything they say SO seriously, sometimes for having really weird gender dynamics where the girls all feel the need to defend their taste in cheesy dance TV shows, and then other times for lots of things that are just…annoying. But I try to keep I Love Amanda Bynes a positive space. You know! Like Zooey Deschanel’s website, except way less controversial because I’m pretty sure (but only PRETTY sure) her readership outstrips mine at a rate of like 1,000 to 1. (10,000 to 1? Really not sure here.)
HOWEVER. Something has occurred that I CANNOT keep silent about and that thing is this. Yes, that is right. The hallowed AV club made a list of 13 movies that “show 3-D shouldn’t die”, and none of them is “Step Up 3D”. NONE of them! (They do include Pina, the high-falutin’ dance documentary out from Wim Wenders, just in case you were worried*.) I mean, I get it, MAYBE? (I don’t really get it.) Step Up 3D made me believe in 3D as a technology, and not just as one of the last vestiges separating movies from reality. (Haha?) If they can include what they imply are super genre horror movies, they can definitely include Step Up 3D.
*and which I am obviously going to see.
